Terms Of The Agreement Were Not Disclosed
Ontario-based Talbot Marketing (asi/341500) has completed the asset purchase of What's Up Clothing Company, the firms have announced. Terms of the agreement, which was finalized on December 13, were not disclosed. "All of us are excited about our new relationship with Talbot," says Pete Thuss, president of What's Up Clothing. "They have a long and successful history of supporting sales professional in the industry. Their commitment to technology will assist us in looking after and growing our customer base."
Thuss, who along with his wife Maria founded What's Up in 1998, will join Talbot's national sales team as a senior account manager. Four other What's Up employees are also moving to Talbot, including three salespeople. "All of their sales professionals have a large and loyal customer following that we will transition over to Talbot Marketing," says Steve Levschuk, president of Talbot. "Pete and his staff will make an immediate impact on the company."
According to Levschuk, What's Up Clothing Company generates annual sales of about $2 million. Talbot is on pace to increase its sales by 7% this year and is expecting an even stronger 2013, Levschuk says, with the company forecasting revenues to rise 20% over the next 12 months. "During 2012, we had 16 new sales partners join our organization," says Levschuk. "The majority of them were during the fourth quarter of 2012. Looking forward, we will have the full year effect of their sales revenue during 2013."
