Dear Phil, I have a company owner looking for light blue and yellow knit Henley shirts for men. Is there such a shirt?
Ellan
Ellan, now, if you’re a loyal fan, I’m sure you know how fond I am of Henleys. The shirts and Don Henley for that matter! I can’t say I’ve got any shirts in those colors, but the best source I know of, is 5 Star Golf Shirt Inc., 183 Bates Rd-#204, Mount Royal, QC H3S 1A1, or (866) 381-5010; www.5starpolos.com. This company has an enormous selection of colors. More than 20, in fact, and both yellow and light blue are listed. Look at product number TH431-A CPJ. Happy Henley Hunting! |

Karen
Wow, Karen! Yosemite National Park!!! What a nice place to live! I’d LOVE to see Yosemite Park. It’s actually number two of the top five places I’d like to visit in the next five years. It’s second only to the giant ball of string! Anyway, sorry. Thermal Henleys -- go to Berne Apparel, 2210 Summit St., New Haven, IN 46774, or (800) 843-7657, or www.berneapparel.com. Dear Phil, Please help! Our local school has changed its uniforms and wants a banded-bottom polo for the older youths and young teen girls. I have been looking in all my suppliers’ catalogs as well online and cannot find this style. Do you know of a supplier for these shirts?
L. Young
L., don’t get yourself all worked up. I’ve got just the place. Go to San Francisco Knitting Mills, 1099 Sneath Lane, San Bruno, CA 94066, or (800) 227-3215; www.aplusfabrics.com. Product number 8618 is a long-sleeve polo with a banded bottom. It comes in sizes S-5XL. I'd call this company just to get some advice about whether the size small is applicable for the “young teen girls” you referenced. Oh, and by the way, this shirt comes in navy and white. |
Hi Phil, Our private academy in Shreveport, LA, wants to open a uniform store for the 3,000 plus students. I'll be in charge of ordering all the uniform pieces (plaid skirts, plaid jumpers, navy slacks and shorts, hunter green and white polos) and embroidering the school logo on each piece and then selling them to the parents when registering for school. I need help! I cannot for the life of me find where you order the pants and plaid jumpers (at least not for wholesale anyway). I know Becky Thatcher is one of the name brands of the jumper. Can you please, please help? Thanks, Kim
Kim, that’s quite an undertaking. I wish you luck with this endeavor. There's money to be made in uniforms! You know, I can’t find you plaid jumpers, but I can find navy jumpers and skirts, however, as well as navy slacks, pants and shorts (for boys). I’ll give you two sources: First, go to Dickies Occupational Wear, 509 W. Vickery Blvd, Fort Worth, TX 76104, or (866) 746-7934; www.dickieswear.com. This supplier has a huge selection of kids’ uniforms. The jumpers, for example, are product 38-505DN. Next, try Gael Inc., 2303 Kennedy St. NE, Ste. 1, Minneapolis, MN 55413, or (800) 347-8856; www.gael.com. This company, too, has a lot of selection for boys and girls alike. Perhaps someone from either company can direct you to plaid jumpers or skirts. Good luck! |

Dear Phil, I've really tried for quite sometime to locate a company that sells wholesale school uniforms. I have a local small private school that would like for me to set up a school store. The students would be required to purchase all the same approved items from my company. The shirts are not a problem but the bottoms are unbelievably hard to find. Can you please help me? Thanks, Beverly
Beverly, you’re so polite! Of course I’ll help. After that kind request, how can I say no? Go to Dickies Occupational Wear, 509 W. Vickery Blvd., Fort Worth, TX 76104, or (866) 746-7934; www.dickieswear.com and look at its selection of boys' and girls' uniforms. Now, I also want to mention another of my favorite magazines. It’s called Uniforms (www.uniformsmag.com). It often has articles about school uniforms and would be worth checkin’ out. It’s available through ASI – and you can get a free subscription! |
