That was the focus of a Stitches Editorial Advisory Board meeting a few years ago in Long Beach, CA. Stitches Publisher Rich Fairfield, ASI Magazines Editor-in-Chief Melinda Ligos and I met with board members to talk about where they saw the commercial embroidery industry headed – and what it needed to get there. One big theme was apparent: students. Students at the college level must be able to get educated in embroidery, digitizing and how to run a successful decorating business. That's key to the future success of the industry as a whole.
